David Clifton-Strawn is an Atlanta-based portrait photographer. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. He has been exhibited at the Atlanta Photography Group, Atlanta Airport, Bowers Museum, Buckhead Public Library, John Wayne Airport and Newport Beach Central Library.
Self-taught in the art of photography, his main work for the last two years has been an ongoing portrait project titled “Simple, Complex, Obvious and Profound: Portraits and Stories of Atlanta Artists” which celebrates Atlanta artists from many disciplines.
In all of his work, David focuses on the dignity, strength and resilience of individuals. He finds Inspiration in the works of Phil Sharp, Katy Grannan, Herman Leonard, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Diane Arbus and Robert Mapplethorpe.
